This special issue of EAJP aims to bring together research techniques and methodologies employed in distinct fields such as history, literature, music, philosophy, art, anthropology, and religious studies. Contributors will share the overarching theme of “Dynamic Encounters between Buddhism and the West”, though in the very spirit of transcultural encounters, contributions that problematise the rigidity of these categories are welcome. Papers on the following topics are invited.
Ancient encounters with Buddhism
The Christian reception of Buddhism
Historical encounters between Buddhism and Western philosophy
Buddhism and science
Comparative philosophy
Interfaith dialogue
Aesthetic encounters
Postcolonial, Decolonial narratives and re-descriptions

The submission language is English. All submissions will undergo a double-blind review process. See the EAJP webpage for submission instructions and style guidelines. Submissions that do not comply with these instructions will not be taken into consideration.
