WebSiteThe Nankai University Institute of Japanese Studies is a comprehensive institution dedicated to academic research and personnel development, specializing in a broad array of fields including Japanese politics, diplomacy, history, and economics. Established in 1988 as the Center for Japanese Studies, it was elevated to the Institute of Japanese Studies in 2003. Currently, the institute employs 20 full-time researchers, with its research activities divided into three main departments: 'Japanese History and Culture,' 'Japanese Economy and Management,' and 'Japanese Politics and Diplomacy,' each focusing on its respective specialized research areas. Additionally, the institute houses a library with a collection of approximately 50,000 Japanese books. It also publishes the academic journal 'Nankai Japanese Studies' biannually, showcasing its research findings. On the educational front, the institute offers both Master's and Doctoral programs in Japanese Studies, training numerous scholars with an international perspective. These scholars are subsequently placed in universities and Japanese studies institutions throughout China, contributing significantly to the field.
