The Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences in Hiroshima University will be inaugurated by reorganizing 16 major courses in 6 graduate schools (Graduate Schools of Integrated Arts and Sciences, Letters, Education, International Development and Cooperation, and Law) into 4 major courses with 14 diploma programs on April 2020 (for some major courses, they are only partially integrated into the new graduate school). This graduate school has two missions, i.e. the science exploration in various fields that contributes to human beings and societies and the construction of a sustainable and peaceful world through education. The name of the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences represents those missions for developing human resources. Specifically, those who have profound intelligence regarding human beings and societies and a strong interest for fields outside of their specialties and are capable of cooperating with specialists of other fields, including natural science and life science, to create the human society of the future.
