Dartmouth College is a private, coeducational university located in Hanover, New Hampshire, in the United States. Established in 1769, it is a member of the Ivy League. In addition to its undergraduate liberal arts program, Dartmouth has medical, engineering, and business schools as well as graduate programs in the arts and sciences. Over 4,000 undergraduates and about 2,000 graduate students attend Dartmouth. The college operates on a year-round quarter system, with four 10-week quarters instead of two semesters. It is a leader in study abroad participation among Ivy League schools with some 60 official programs around the world.
