WebSiteThe center was established in 2011. Its research areas include the history of Sino-Japanese literary relations, the history of Sino-Japanese social and cultural relations, and the history of East Asian cultural relations. Academic courses and symposiums are held regularly. Ongoing projects include "Research and Documentation of Sino-Japanese Literary Relations in the Modern Era (1870-2010)", a major project funded by the National Social Science Foundation to Zhisong Wang; "Research on the Reception of 'Eight Views of Xiao-xiang' in Japanese Painting,a publication project funded by the National Social Science Foundation to Qian Cheng; "Research on the Educational and Cultural Projects of Japan to China in the Meiji Period", funded by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities to Ding Wang, etc. While the Center emphasizes a Chinese perspective in Japanese studies, it strives for universality by capturing Japan through a multi-faceted lens, fostering collaboration with researchers from various countries.
