The Japanese Language Program at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University, along with the Graduate Program in Japanese Studies, offers undergraduate (Japanese major), master’s, and doctoral programs in Japanese Studies. The undergraduate program focuses on developing proficiency in the four language skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing) while also offering a diverse range of courses, including Japanese literature, Japanese culture, and practical career-oriented subjects such as business Japanese, interpreting, and translation. The Graduate Program in Japanese Studies aims to deepen specialized knowledge in the Japanese language, Japanese studies and other topics related to Japan. It also seeks to promote research in Japanese studies from various perspectives, including language, culture, and society.
