Theme:A Dialogue between Two Japanese Studies Institutes
Overview:We are pleased to announce that two international research institutes for Japanese studies, the Deutsches Institut für Japanstudien and the International Research Center for Japanese Studies (NICHIBUNKEN), have concluded an academicexchange agreement. To commemorate this agreement, we will hold a seminar to discuss the possibilities for a variety of exchanges in the future.
What sort of research subject does Japan represent to German and European eyes? How should the Consortium for Global Japanese Studies (CGJS), for which Nichibunken serves as the governing body, become a truly global network? What are the challenges for international Japanese studies? The dialogue between the two institutes will offer an opportunity to consider such questions.
