Call for Abstracts: “Imagining the Palaeoanthropocene in East Asia”

Academic papers are invited for a special issue of the journal postmedieval called “Imagining East Asia in the Palaeoanthropocene.” The editors, Evan Nicoll-Johnson and Benjamin Ridgway at Swarthmore College, are looking to gather papers that address premodern perspectives on the environment and transformation of environments through agriculture, etc., in literature, the arts, and religion, from all over East Asia. Early career scholars and scholars outside of European and North American institutions are particularly encouraged to apply.

An abbreviated CFP is below, and the full version is available online here: https://sites.google.com/view/postmedieval/submissions/palaeoanthropocene.
